Today, I’ll be sharing a poem that I wrote about a year ago. I have edited it, because it was very short and the wording was choppy.
depression is not pretty. It is not fun
depression is sleeping all day and night because you’d rather sleep than deal with the demon in your head telling you how you’re not good enough
depression is laying in your bed while your floors a mess and you can’t bring yourself to do anything but just lay there.
depression is eating maybe a meal a day, because who has the effort to make more than one?
depression is missing school and your assignments because it’s too much brain power to think about it
depression is wondering if you should just jump in front of the car or swerve in front of the semi passing you because anything is better than feeling like this
depression is wondering why you arent dead yet because you’re already at the bottom of the barrel, how much lower can you go
depression is the heavy thoughts all day long and the even heavier thoughts all night
depression is not caring about anything and wondering if you should just end it all because why should someone live like this. Its too hard
